Mid-Sized Custom Program
(For larger contracting businesses)
The Mid-Size program tailors our systems-based, standalone business development process to larger ($5 million - $20 million) contracting firms. The goals are identical to our One-on-One Mainstream program:
- Create a standalone business that doesn’t depend on the contractor’s continual involvement.
- Develop management and leadership skill.
- Improve efficiency and profitability.
- Enhance quality of life for the contractor.
Larger businesses require a more strategic owner. The Mid-Sized program emphasizes top-level management, leadership and delegation skill development for the contractor while training employees to create the operational systems that are the foundation of the standalone business: the same systems in the same functional areas as our One-on-One Mainstream program.
The Mid-Sized program also includes:
- Coordination of program activities in multiple areas of the business.
- Training for subordinate managers, employees and work groups.
- Monitoring and reporting of project status to owner.
- Watchdog/Early warning.
In addition, the Mid-Size Program offers:
- Strategic Advice: Bigger contractors make bigger, more complex decisions and impartial input from the coach who knows the business intimately can be a valuable asset.
- Mediation: Arguments and rivalries are destructive and difficult for insiders to resolve. Your coach’s impartiality gives them the ability to broker solutions without resentments or suspicions.
A single, dedicated coach works with you from start to finish. Regular meetings are conducted by phone to review progress, solve problems, answer questions, provide guidance, receive new materials, and define next steps. Between meetings, you and your employees follow the steps to implement systems and methods. Your coach is always available by phone or email to answer questions and provide whatever support you need.
This program can be structured as a scaled-up version of the One-on-One, covering the same topics and implementing similar solutions but involving more meetings, more employees, and the coordination of multiple projects. Alternatively, Mid-Size can be completely customized to focus on particular areas in your business.
As with all our programs, the emphasis is on practicality and measurable results.
In some cases, we’ll perform an on-site assessment of your business, including reviews of operating and financial data, physical plant, assets, and procedures, and conduct interviews with you and your key employees. The results of this assessment will provide the suggested structure for your program.
Program Length: As needed. Usually a minimum of 18 months.
Price: Dependent on nature and scope of the program
Terms: Monthly charge to credit card or prepay each three months via EFT.
Length of Contract: None. Thirty days notice to suspend.
